Justice For The Lion (spoiler)

I loved the give and take between Ozma and West in deciding what to do with the soldier who murdered Ozma's parents in cold blood. West probably would have meted out a different kind of justice, but she treated Ozma as an equal and let her make her own choice. As soon as she raised her hands I knew what she was going to do, but that makes her erasing of the man from his family's memory no less inspired. I hope this show comes back.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect as punishment, but I agree that Ozma handled it well. She has great promise as a queen. Although when she said he would roam as a beast, I assumed she was going to transform him into a lion or some kind of humanoid-lion-beast and was almost disappointed when he just wore the helmet.

reply

I think he was transformed internally. He is destroyed as a man and is truly alone in the world. If he became an actual lion, he might be able to bond with other lions.

reply

Huh. Maybe. Well, first he would need to find other lions, and then try to fit in with the hierarchy of the pride or whatever.

It's also entirely possible there was no money left in the show's budget for the FX of the morphing. The same may be said for Singh's choice of not showing us much of the Beast Forever.

reply

Maybe. They could have just showed him groaning and writhing, then pan back to Ozma and the next shot have a lion where he had been. Or something. Good point, though.
