Was Irving justified in your mind... (spoilers)

in planting the necklace in Border's apartment?

Irving knew that he did it but knew finding the necklace in Border's backpack would be inadmissible, so he simply put it where it would be. If he didn't, Border's probably would have walked and continued to murder.

I say Irving did the right thing.
