Congratulations to the MCU, still owns the best FIVE CBM's ever made

Congratulations and this coming from a serious X-Men fan. Yes, Days of Future Past and X2 are right there as well but the MCU is just killing it right now.

The best origin films for sure. ALL of them joining Raimi's Spider-Man and maybe 1978's Superman as the best. Sorry Batman fanatics, the character may be cool but ALL his films are flawed. TDK is clearly the best but still inferior to the best of the MCU.

Right now both Avenger films, two Cap films and Iron Man are probably the top five in the genre. First Avenger, Thor and now Dr. Strange are right there at the top. Even Iron Man 3 is an underrated gem. Ant-Man is fresh and extremely entertaining. Can anyone say that about ANY DCEU movie?

Can the MCU keep this up year after year?

I will go as far as to say Captain America: Civil War sets a new bar in Superhero films. Something that never sat well with either Nolan disciples or DC nutjobs in general.

“It's a magnificent action film, it's a wonderful character piece, it's big, brash, bursting with confidence and brio; it's Marvel firing on all cylinders just when, by rights, we might be expecting the law of diminishing returns to set in.” – Paul Mount Critic

“Tear away the powers, abilities and egos, though, and the third Captain America movie is at its core a deep exploration of friendship and family and what sacrifices should be made to hold onto both.” – USA Today

“Matching its blockbuster scale and spectacle with the smarts of a great, grown-up thriller, Captain America: Civil War is Marvel Studios' finest film yet.” – Empire Magazine

“Finally, a big budget superhero sequel that manages to be both effortlessly entertaining and utterly sobering, instead of just one of those things-or, as we've endured too frequently in the past, neither of them. (Looking at you, Batman v Superman.)” – The Daily Beast

“Captain America: Civil War, has managed to reinvent the comic book movie once again, creating a film that's thoughtful, mature and moving at the same time as being a thrilling ensemble romp.” – Rosie Fletcher

*“In the 2016 battle for superhero supremacy, Marvel has unquestionably delivered the knock-out blow.” – Martin Roberts

“There is real maturity in a story of guilt, revenge, torn loyalties and tragic revelations - between the fights, explosions, chases and general awesomeness.” – Angie Errigo

*“Bringing together tremendous character dynamics; bold structure; an emotional narrative; and spell-binding, fun action sequences, it's everything a blockbuster should be.” – Cineblend

*“Equal parts fun, smart, emotional, thrilling and thought-provoking, Captain America: Civil War is a rare masterpiece of a superhero movie. With First Avenger, The Winter Soldier and now Civil War, the case can be made that theCaptain America films could possibly be the greatest superhero movie trilogy of all time.” - Tech Times

“Funny, sad, satirical, spectacular... this is that rare blockbuster that proves that more can be more.” – Adam Sweeting

“Marvel makes it funny, and that charm and care is what has and will keep audiences coming back over and over again.” - Associated Press

“Even for those of us who aren't comic-book devotees, Captain America: Civil War scores as pure cinematic gold.” – Daily Mail

“Civil War is just magnificent. Huge, bright, loud, long, funny, intriguing, thoughtful and fast, it gets everything right.” – Tim Martain Mercury

A movie like Civil War that delivers a perfect blend of humor, drama and action certainly deserves top five status.

the five best kiddies movies ever made

reply

How are they kiddie?

They are deeper, more complex, more violent and more mature than any DCEU movie, now the DCEU those films are terrible and kiddie.

All good things come to an end.

With less than a week left on these boards, do yourself a favor. Put wormhole on ignore.

Alas the conflict will soon come to a close with the morons of the world apparently learning nothing from reading the posts of their betters here on IMDB.

It's the only reason I ever posted. To try and educate and teach the feeble like wormfood just a few things.

I'll give you Guardians of the Galaxy, but for me the other four spots are currently occupied by The Dark Knight, A History of Violence, Dredd, and Sin City.

I like many MCU movies but this was really not a Captain America film. It was ok but definitely not the best. The second avengers movie wasn't all that great as well. I think super hero fatigue is setting in now.... We are getting like one film a month now...
