Emma Watson's acting
I Only saw the first Harry Potter movie, don't really remember much (which character Watson was), and haven't seen any of her other movies until this. Is her acting always this bad?

shareHmmm......Never watched the Harry Potter movies. Couldn't get into them. The only other movie I've watched with Emma in it, apart from this one, is "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." She was good in that.
"You're an idiot." - Irisa Nolan, Defiance (2013)
Her accent was god awful in that movie.
shareher accent was fine. sounded like the girl next door.
Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain (Isaac Asimov)
I thought her accent was bad too , at first I couldn't make out that she was even attempting any type of american accent at all
Truth? you can't handle the truth
I didn't think her accent was all that great either.
shareShe used to overact alot in the HP movies, especially the first ones. I never really understood the reason behind everyone being so obsessed with her.
shareWell, just gonna take a wild shot in the dark here - but probably cuz she was (is) hot, and countless young boys had a crush on her. Not saying I did, haven't been a kid in some time now, but likely her looks played into it.
shareShe's the Patsy Kensit of her generation. Which means we'll probably have to endure a few more years of her limp acting while producers cast her in their films to attract the fanboys.
shareShe was a little kid in the first HP movies... She did grow into it with time, IMHO, and improved as an actress.
shareShe's a very good actress with so much talent and diversity into her roles apart from Hermione and Harry Potter.
She was pretty good in Regression too as the double identity character of Angela Gray.I enjoyed her a lot during the end with the coldness spread into her face.
She was not "pretty good" in this, she was awful. She brought nothing convincing to the role. Just one pained expression. She was cast for her name, but man, they could have gone with so many better options.
shareyeah, she was pretty bad in Regression. I did not believe her at all. Ruined the movie for me. Her and the predictable plot.
shareYes. It's always this bad
shareShe was as bad in THE BLING RING, she manage to do okay in PERKS OF BEING A WALL FLOWER though.
She was acceptable in the Harry Potter movies I saw (the first 4) but you don't ask the same quality from a child actress as you do an adult actress
I'm gonna refuse you an offer you can't make
She was AMAZING in the bling ring. You obviously never watched real footage of Alexis Neirs.
shareI will admit I haven't, can't have much of a personality I imagine if she was just like her
The plan is you drink a nice tall glass of shut the *beep* up.
That's fine if you have not but you cannot judge Emma's performance fairly then. She just nailed it. (aside from the British accent that pops up twice I believe). But she played a sociopath very well.
She was also good in Colonia and Noah. The only performance that was meh was the one in regression. She was either miscast and/or her character was very badly written.
Emma Watson is an awful actress. She was palatable in Harry Potter, because she was essentially playing herself. She is an intelligent, know it all with a heart playing an intelligent know it all with a heart.
she was in one of the most popular franchises in history and her feminist campaigning makes her an attractive marketing subject for film producers wishing to appeal to female audiences. For these reasons and these reasons alone she will keep getting film roles her talent could never get her.
I agree. Her acting is dire and unbelievable. It's like willing a small child on stage in hope that she doesn't forget her lines. I doubt she'll last too long on screen.
Pretty face though.
Horrible actress. Especially that Noah's Ark crap movie
