It was downright criminal how they snubbed this movie at the Golden Globes

Wow, what was up with that? Only one nomination for the score and actress, nothing else. No director, supporting actress, film, screenplay, etc? Hopefully the Oscars come through and give this movie the noms and awards it deserves.

Never really watched the Golden Globes, are they like the Oscars? I've heard of tv shows getting Golden Globes, so that's a lil confusing

Not as "prestigious" as the Oscars but they do nominate and award films as well.

I guess it's not the kind of film that wins awards plus it was late in the season to build momentum.

How is it not? Hell you could even call it an Oscar bait film (as they tend to do with these type of films).

It's also yet another remake of a very familiar story full of pretty frocks. This is an observation not a judgement - I saw Little Women yesterday and really enjoyed it.
