Not great but passable...

first post on this Netflix original: a kind of forgettable movie and kind of mediocre but a good performance by the lead and side characters makes it interesting enough

on a side note: I like Jake Johnson a lot since his characters often remind me of myself (Specially Nick in New Girl and in Safety not Guaranteed)

6/10

Agreed, it's a decent time killer. Jake Johnson has grown on me a lot – loved him in Drinking Buddies.

I really liked that it was shot on 16mm. The aesthetic really complemented the film. Reminded me a lot of Altman's California Split, which is one of his best. Mid 70s vibes in general. The narrative is fairly standard but it still kept me engaged and the acting was nice from everyone. And yeh I agree that Jake Johnson is great. He has a lot of natural charm. 8/10

I would tend to agree. A movie with the same director and lead actor that I would recommend much, much more highly is DRINKING BUDDIES.
