Akan had so many chances to kill Henry but for whatever reason didn't. In the brothel, it even seemed like he was saving him by tossing him through the vents to the parking lot. Am I missing something?

I thought maybe he was trying to see how devoted/determined/in love/willing to obey his wife Henry was. But ya know, I wouldn't look too far into it.

Yeah you're missing that this movie had basically a *beep* video game script.

Well, if it was all a scheme to see how far Henry would go to save his "wife", it definitely makes sense...
