Focus on the after Breaking Bad rather than the before

I wish they managed to show something happening before that doesn't reach a conclusion untill after, and then they focus on that.

Like: Saul has some bad deal with a criminal thanks to chuck. Maybe Kim has to sacrifice herself for Saul. Maybe Mike temporarily saves his ass. Cut to after BB: Mike is not there anymore and this criminal tracks down Saul.
So we see Saul finishing this off, take revenge on Kim, and maybe because of this he's able to relaunch his carrer/life (not that working in a cinnabon is not a carrer/life...)

I say this because it would lead into NEW territory that we don't know, rather than just expose what happens before BB all the time (we know who survives and who disappears, etc).

Gilligan and Gould have already indicated that they see the show going on for many years in the post-Breaking Bad timeline. They're just choosing to focus on the past at the moment.

I'm guessing they don't want to use up all that fertile storytelling territory. I have no doubt they will, but I bet they are mostly saving it for yet another show. I would love to see a *fingers crossed* 148-3 to the 3 to the 6 to the 9 Jesse Pinkman Show. You could have flashbacks to stuff from High School with Mister White, stuff concurrent with Breaking Bad, and of course the juicy after Bad bits.

The "Jesse Pinkman Show" would just be pathetic, enough with the spinoffs already.

What would be awesome is Breaking Good, a REAL SEQUEL to the first one:
Walter Jr. is folowing the footsteps of his beloved uncle in DEA investigation (he's a detective, not a shooter). His disabilities make him a modern sherlock holmes: he uses logic and intuition to find the culprit, not bullets.
To help her mother who is 300.000 in debt with the new Gus, Holly finds out the truth about his late father, and decides to trace back his ex partner Jesse Pinkman to rebuild the drug empire.
Jesse is reluctant at first, but later joins her to save her from the bad guys.
So it's the same premise, only with different outcome once the story develops (like, walter jr is not as dull as Hank, and traces his sister pretty quickly, not after 5 seasons, or something else brilliant from the writer:-)
That's a show I wanna watch!

reply

Yeah, I would not watch that.
