Why no new episode?

I turn on AMC CE last night, and they're airing old episodes of BCS. Is it a holiday in the US?

reply

Yeah, we didn't get one this past Monday because it's our Memorial Day. Shows can vary on this. I have another Monday night show that did have a new episode, but not all of them did.

reply

Ah, this explains it :) Thanks!

Maybe a bit off topic, but I have always been surprised that in the UK, the TV stations show big "event" shows on Christmas day. I remember that the season finales of Downton Abbey were always on Christmas day. Why is that? Aren't people out doing other things?

reply

I don't know. I'm not from the UK.

I'm not from the UK, but not everyone's out. I mean, each family celebrates the holidays differently, right? I'm American, and in my family, we don't really leave the house on Christmas Day. Eve, yes, to see family, but Day, no, we just loaf in our pjs. So we'd be around if a new episode of something was on. But we're usually busy just lounging, playing new games, whatever, so in spite of being home, we'd still not be likely to make it a point to tune in.

It makes sense. Less people watching television. Ergo, less money to be made from advertisers. Why air a show if the adverting slots aren't worth jack shit.
