Carey Mulligan

Although a competent actress and fairly attractive. I wouldn't say she's "beautiful." I feel they should've casted someone like Kate Beckinsale, who is genuinely beautiful and does well in period dramas.

I know, its backwards now, people want to see real people or at least believable. Then here, I look and wonder is she that beautiful, to be pursued by three men.when doing this there is more needed than a Mary Sue, sometimes I want to see a Kate beckinsale,or Charlize theron. Point black I didn't feel she was that interesting, I lost interest in movie after about 42 minutes.

I hate how this world is so focused on looks .. She's far from ugly ! .. Now she needs to be a super model for three men to even look at her ?? I thought it because she wasn't that appealing personality wise .. I never judged it by her looks.

She was perfect for the character. She is striking looking (in my opinion), and so much of Bathsheba's appeal has to do with her personality. It's about Oak seeing her jump in to help wash the sheep; or her working up the courage to barter at the market.

She's good looking, smart, rich, and owns a huge property (of which she is an excellent manager)--by any terms, and especially those of the times, she's a total catch.

Kate Beckinsale is your ideal beauty, not everyone else's. I find Kate attractive but oddly average at the same time. I think Carey Mulligan is very beautiful. She has a very unique quality to her looks. That distinction makes her stand out.

The statement below is false.

I thought she Carey was very believable, and I don't have a problem with her looks.

I think she is very pretty. And she even played a character named Edith Pretty, in "The Dig," haha
