so did lena have the affair before or after kane went into the shimmer? i thought she had the affair after it, but then i read an article where it explained how lena's affair was obviously (?) the reason for kane to agree to go on that self-destructive mission.
sharejust watched the flick again: at one scene the black guy asks lena if kane knows about [their affair] and she replies yes. so this would suggest the affair had started before kane went into the shimmer. yet, kane and lena's relationship seemed in harmony shortly before kane went. kind of vague...

Before she went into the shimmer. I believe that guilt was one of her main motivations for going.
