A glorification of selling your soul and devil worship

So you would think this movie would be some sort of cautionary tale to young starlets - to be wary of selling your soul or giving in to the dark powers of Hollywood. But no, there is no moral to this story. If you sell your sell to the Illuminati who run Hollywood, then you too will be rewarded with fame and riches.

This could have been a much more interesting movie if the transformation happened early in the film, and for the remainder we see how selling your soul is just a deception and a downward spiral. But instead we are forced to waste our time drudging through the entire film, just to reach an obvious conclusion... she sells her soul and gets the part.

But then what??

We are left to believe that selling her soul wasn't such a negative thing. She is reborn as a much more powerful creature who is guaranteed a career in Hollywood. She sucks the souls of her loser roommates and emerges as a goddess.

So the message of the film seems to be: You - the aspiring actor in Hollywood, can either work at Hooters, hang with losers who live in their van, and hope to get parts in Indie films that no one will ever see. OR - get involved with the illuminati, sell your soul and inherit life's great pleasures.

On the surface, this film is disguised as just another B horror film. But in reality, it's another calling card for the desperate.

Someone on this board asked the question, "who are these filmmakers and how do they know so much about Satanism?"

Answer: It's pretty obvious who sponsored this film.

Are you under the impression people in Hollywood can actually sell their souls to the devil in exchange for fame and riches? Because I live in Hollywood and I would love to know where to find this alleged "illuminati" 

But in all seriousness your interpretation of the film is extremely warped. She faces horrific abuse at the hands of the satanists, endures a grueling transformation, murders her friends, and loses her humanity. That's not glorification. She's now damned for the rest of her existence. I can't think of a sadder fate than giving up your life for something as empty as fame.

You said it! It is obvious that Hollywood seems to be in love with the occult, the one eye, and the triangle. smh I think this movie may be telling anyone aspiring to be a part of Hollywood ~ There's a HUGE price to pay & can you deal with it..

I kind of felt the same way as far as the "but then what?" that you mention. The movie is all build-up, and we aren't clued in on anything else. The cult wants her to be the vessel for their feelings about Hollywood, but all she does is kill her slacker friends (I know, it's part of killing her old life, but it dredges on too long).

the neon demon is a million times better than this cheap looking pos w that awful score.

Lol neon demon is literally an ad for this.

If anything the movie adds to the theory that to be a celebrity you have to commit an illuminati sacrifice which could make people second guess wanting to get involved with Hollywood.
