That movie was doomed the moment they cast rapidly balding Nicolas Cage. What were they thinking?

I keep and keep watching pictures and videos of Cage in costume and it looks so pathetic and ridiculous. He looks like hobo from the street who they brought upstairs.

Superman has divine presence about him. He is like perfect God looking creature. Nicolas Cage has none of that. His face is weird long shape and too skinny. On top of that he has been balding since like he was probably born. If you would look older videos - he has been spotting bald spots in the videos back from 1990. No extensions could fix that to look natural.

And they didn't even try! Whole time they were building their stupid shining costume - he was doing it in cheap bad looking wig. Who only made him look older. Black hair did not suit him at all. And then he was in his bald state when they put real costume for photoshoot with shorter hair.

No wonder studio looked at it, understood they would spend 200 millions on that future flop and just cancelled it. If they would actually hire Superman like looking actor - that movie would probably be made.

I disagree. Cage has a different look than what one sees in the comic books, but then again, Michael Keaton is nothing like the traditional Bruce Wayne, and his portrayal of the character is beloved.

He looks the part to me, and I think the film had the potential to be great. It certainly couldn't have been worse than Man of Steel, despite that film casting an actor who was more in line with what one sees in the comic books.
