Rank the Characters?

Seeing as it's finally out, was curious how everyone ranked the characters best to worst and who they liked/disliked.

Mine:
1. Mike - Most developed (starts off as an immature douchey jock and ended my game as a flawed but fiercely brave and loyal hero), well acted, genuinely funny at times, insanely badass, non-stereotypical lead. Really, not a whole lot to dislike here.
2. Chris - Really funny. Also fairly well developed and a pretty easy-to-like guy. But he's mainly here for providing laughs, and plenty of them. Though it was fun to watch the goofy comic relief nerd have to toughen/brave up and take things more seriously. And man.. The mental abuse.
3. Josh - The goofy fratbro being the one with trauma due to dead sisters is already pretty original and enough to make me like him, but he's also funny, starts out as a pretty nice guy, and I liked the twist involving him. Plus, somehow still sympathetic despite everything
4. Emily - Was NOT expecting to like her much at first. She was entertaining enough as a love to hate bitch, but. She mainly won me over for her sheer will to live and surprising competence. She seemed kinda ditzy and shrill at first, but then she gets the mine sequence and chase and gives it her ALL to get out alive. Wasn't expecting that from the girl who used her boyfriend as a bellhop. All that said, I do wish we had the possibility to CHOOSE for Emily to have an arc about becoming a better person. I mean, we can choose to make Matt a selfish d-ck or Ashley a near total bitch, and we can even downplay Mike's redeeming features. Don't see why we couldn't help Em be a nice person
5. Jessica - What we got of her was pretty fun, but she's criminally underused. She just didn't have a chance to shine while the four above her TOTALLY did. That said, I did like some of the depth they have her
6. Sam - Solid and likeable final girl with some sass. Hayden's a plus. She and Jess are pretty close, but I was more drawn to Jess's bitchery in the first two acts than I ever really was to Sam.
7. Ashley - She's sweet, and I did like her, but..... Ashley is a bit... Shrill at times. I get why they included a shrieky girl archetype, it's totally a horror staple. That said, it is an annoying one. And we already have Emily covering that base initially before taking on a level in badass and saving herself. Something Ash... Does not do.
8. Matt - Honestly, he's a really likeable guy. Quite possibly the nicest of the bunch. And I like that he can potentially have a short temper and how dynamic his and Em's relationship can be. He mainly suffers because he died really early in my playthrough before I could get too much of a feel for him. And he's arguably more shafted in screentime than Jessica (at least if we gets a hook to the mouth) I want to do another playthrough where he lives to see if he's featured more. I feel like there was a lot of potential here, but it just wasn't fully realized due to a screentime thing, like Jessica

How about you guys?

1. Chris. He's funny and has a good character development. He's also the most relatable to me.

2. Josh. Knowing about what happened to Hannah and Beth makes it very hard to not root for him. He's also sympathetic. It's a shame we can't save him.

3. Ashley. She gets a lot of hate but I tend to have Chris not shoot her and Emily is such a b!tch, I have no sympathy for her. Ashley's letting Chris die feels out of character, especially when she actually begs not to shoot himself, saying she'd rather die. She loses point for that and also loses for how easy she is scare but she has more personality than the other girls.

4. Mike. I should hate this guy after in role in Hannah and Beth's death but he goes through so much and becomes kinda badass. He has a lot of good character development. He loses points for not being able to die until the last chapter despite it being a game where anyone can die. I also find it hypocritical for him to call Josh a murderer, when he basically did that to Hannah and Beth. It's like if Hitler came up to you and called you a Nazi.

5. Sam. I should like her more but she just comes across as very generic and doesn't have much personality. The fact that she can't die until the last chapter makes it harder to feel for her since she is safe for most of the game. She also makes a lot of dumb decisions such as leaving Ashley behind and insisting on going off on her own as much as humanly possible.

6. Matt. He's a nice guy but we don't really see that much of him.

7. Jessica. She isn't around much to really get to know her.

8. Emily. Every other character is actually likeable in their own way. Not so with Emily. She is just the worst. She's obnoxious and b!tchy. She treats Matt like $h!t. Her screaming is also obnoxious. The worst offender is that she can lie to the police about Matt letting her die. Even if her relationship with Matt is positive, the way she goes on about being his girlfriend feels completely forced and would probably still feel forced even if she didn't cheat on him. Speaking of cheating, she also considers Jessica to be a $lut despite Emily actually being more of one than her (Jessica isn't the one who's cheating). Emily's intelligence is also something of an informed attribute, though to be fair everyone in this game seems to have an informed attribute.

1. Sam - the only character I would have started the game over for if I had gotten them killed.
2. Chris - reminds me a lot of myself, actually - the nerdy but actually pretty funny, sociable guy.
3. Mike - most developed for sure.
4. Matt - Always liked him, he's a nice guy, but he is very underused.
5. Josh - the most interesting. He was actually a lot higher on the list before he was revealed to be insane - it seems I was one of the few people who actually wasn't creeped out by him at first.
6. Ashley - likeable enough but can be very annoying when she freaks out. Also not very interesting, but I really didn't want her to die because of Chris.
7. Jess - would have been higher on the list but was very underused in the second and third acts.
8. Emily - absolutely despised her at first, but she got a little better by the end. The actress did a great job of playing a b*tch, though,

1. Josh - most complex character, and I love Rami Malek
2. Chris - most likable character, funny
3. Mike - definitely an Ash homage, liked him enough
4. Sam - Hayden and some sass here and there make up for an otherwise standard final girl
5. Matt - I amused myself by making him the most paranoid and confrontational f-ck in the universe
6. Ashley - liked her at first, got a bit whiny
7. Jessica - so annoying
8. Emily - wah, wahhh, wahhhhh

1) Mike

Unless I purposely killed him, he survived every play through. Without him, the group would have died on the first night. He begins as the annoying, arrogant jock but transforms into a decisive hero. He makes decisions, he is the most proactive member of the group and he has a badass wolf as a sidekick (for a small duration, anyway). Although he can be (depending on your choices) responsible for the death of one of the group, he does it in the best interests of everyone. He's always thinking of how to help everyone survive.

2) Josh

The most interesting character overall. I loved Rami's performance. He was complex. At times humorous, others creepy. He was such an entertaining character, it's just a shame we don't get to control him more often but that's part of his intrigue. He's enigmatic even to his friends. Without him, the game wouldn't be as interesting.

3) Sam

I liked her from the off. Laid back, always prepared to help out and she has the best interests of everyone. She's like Mike but to a marginally lesser extent. I think, if not for Mike, she'd have made the best leader of the group.

4) Chris

The doofus. He's funny and likable. He tries to be tough and show that he can handle the situation, but he doesn't ever really seem to fully understand what's going on and that's both amusing and endearing.

5) Jessica

She doesn't feature that much and I'm not overly keen on her but she's just a typical teen. A bit of a bitch but very insecure, so it's kinda understandable.

6) Matt

The lovable doormat. He serves to keep Emily's feet clean most of the time. He's not involved enough. He carries some bags, gets shouted at and put down ... then he dies.

7) Emily

She's a bitch. From start to finish.

8) Ashley

Originally I was going to list Emily as last but at least Emily isn't responsible for the death of one of the better characters. She whines from dusk til dawn about everything and is mostly a burden on the group because she panics in every situation. At least Emily had some sense. She could keep herself alive.

Sam - loyal in friendship, with human feelings for other people, athletic and cunnning and ... Hayden Panettiere and wears a towel nicely ;)
Jessica - appears as artificial and immature, but is caught in the middle of the Mike / Emily relationship, feels guilty of hitting the bird with the snowball, then opens to Mike as lacking confidence
Josh - spoiled kid with a big mouth, alcoholic and feels guilty and revengeful for what happened to his sisters ; becoming psycho is sad as he trusted his friends, so maybe he felt betrayed ans snapped
Emily - strong willed, practical, quite imposes her will on her new boyfriend - but he lacks personality so not sure if it's her fault
Ashley - led by her emotions, will forget her friendship because she's scared, but can show good friendship in normal situations
wolf : man's best friend
Chris - pretty immature, always wants to joke, but his jokes turn non funny fast, pretty useles in a dangerous situation
Matt - not much to say
Mike - the jock, with loud mouth and dominating character
