Ugh I hated Mike... Even when he was 'Nice' I thought he came off as an alpha douche bag.

Jessica was pretty boring and died first as I would have predicted.

I really liked Chris and Sam (I was right about her being more 'final-girlish btw :P )

I HATED Emily at first but then grew to love her! Loved when she bitch slapped Ashley XD

I liked Ashley at first but then she became super annoying and whiny.

I really liked and felt bad for josh :/

I liked Matt but he was kinda boring in the walk through I watched.

1). Josh - by far my favorite character because he seemed to be very laid back and a chill type of person. The tragedy surrounding him in the story with his sisters, his friends playing that horrible prank, that's got to mess a guy up.
2). Matt - honestly the only real reason I like him is because I see a lot of my personality in him. I also felt bad that he just let his girlfriend walk all over him.
3). Chris - GOTTA LOVE THE FUNNY GUY! Just the type of dude I'd hang out with. His witty remarks, I just wish I got to see more bro moments between him and Josh before the crap hit the fan. They seemed like such the duo.
4). Sam - 3 words: Horror. Movie. Heroine. They make these stories dude so its fun to watch them struggle but when they make it out alive in the end, you just want sit back and watch in awe as they shine with their star power.
5). Mike - Can you say 'Ash from Evil Dead'? That's who I thought of the moment I saw him. From jerk to hero, I'd say. I kept hoping he'd get a chainsaw arm and a sawed-off shotgun.
6). Jessica - I would've put Ashley in this spot but... Yeah, I'll explain below. Anyway, Jess wasn't too bad in my opinion, a little pushy and mean but... She had her moments.
7). Ashley - I liked her before, in the beginning even though there wasn't a lot to go on. But let me say this (POSSIBLE SPOILER!!) she kind of likes to hold a grudge, don't you think?
8). Emily - I hated her! She was just.... You know what?? I will say speak on her positive qualities: umm... She was very.... Intelligent?.... Strong-willed?.... Yay! I did it!! Job done, list over ?

6. Jessica- Really liked her, just wished we would have been able to control her more. Didn't hate her at all, the others were just more interesting.

7. Ashley- Annoyed me at first, she grew on me when her and Chris were together. When Chris died she became pointless and took the 'unlikable mean girl' role Emily had at the beginning.
8. Matt- It was my fault I hated him. I made him attack Mike and become a douche and he complained the whole time.

I've only played about an hour and a half, all are still alive (Mike and Jess are just about to arrive at the cabin in my Play through). I can't really rank them all yet but my favorites are Sam and Chris and my least favorite is Emily. Also really like Matt, Josh and Mike are pretty good too.

Spoilers, hooooo.

1. Mike - Absolutely hated him at first, and then just did a total u-turn on him the second he just launched himself in to going after Jessica without even hesitating and continued to be brave and fearless from there.
2. Chris - Was suspicious of him at first but he was pretty cool, quite funny at times, and had it pretty rough on a psychological really. Arguably worse than anyone in that sense, which seems odd for Josh to make him the target of that.
3. Sam - Kind of like a female Mike, pretty brave and fearless and just throws herself in to everything fairly willingly, like just climbing up rockfaces and all that.
4. Emily - Hated her for the first half, like really hated her, she'd have been about 100th on this list of 8 if she hadn't suddenly found herself lost in a horrifying mine. Honestly, for someone who seems <i>really</i> not cut out for this outdoorsy *beep* the fact she found herself in this dark, underground mine, with some dude she didn't know was friendly, and a bunch of *beep* monsters shrieking around her the whole time, on top of that finding the decapitated head of one of her dead friends, pretty much learning the other one was starving and injured and dying, then getting chased by wendigo, escaping and still managing to shoot the one chasing her with a flair gun. Fair *beep* play. That she came out of that unscathed made me do a turnaround on her, even if she does go back to being a bit bitchy afterwards, she's kind of earned it at that point.
5. Jessica - Kind of like Emily slightly, pretty funny sequence with Mike heading to the cabin and then she just gets absolutely battered her and shredded up and just takes what must be some pretty brutal impact that leaves her pretty vulnerable and helpless for a long time (even moreso in my playthrough considering she was lying there in her underwear) so I was really sympathetic to her.
6. Ashley - Likeable, and pretty key to what must have been a pretty harrowing ordeal for her and Chris (particularly Chris, as the one having to do the 'choosing') but after that she kind of just doesn't do too much really, becomes fairly peripheral.
7. Josh - Just not likeable. Even before you find out what he's really doing the whole time I found him pretty suspicious and creepy. Admittedly, the saw moment threw me, but the fact it was all a ruse didn't shock me too much since it was him. I do like Rami Malek though, and think his performance is really good considering he kind of his to portray a whole range of things. Still slightly sympathetic.
8. Matt - Likeable, he just doesn't have much to do, although he does have to put up with Emily for a lot of the first part so probably deserves better than 8th for that alone.

1. Mike - Most badass character and one of the funniest. He also had some of the best lines and was one of the nicer characters. He's a solid Final Guy. I was incredibly angry when I accidentally killed him right at the ending.
2. Chris - Another badass character and he was funny too. I liked his goofiness.
3. Sam - Really cool Final Girl and Hayden does some of the best voice acting in the game.
4. Josh - One of the most complex characters. I really pitied him and wanted him to get some help or something. Unfortunately, there's no good ending for him.
5. Jessica - Would've been higher if it weren't for the fact she got shafted in this game. She just disappears for the rest of the game. Definitely the most under-used and under-developed character...but she was really fun. And I loved her lines.
6. Emily - I liked her at times and hated her at other times. She was such a bitch. But...she was a survivor and she proved that down in the mines. It's a shame she goes back to being a bitch straight after. She was like an Asian Lara Croft in the mine section.
7. Matt - Genuinely nice guy who is treated so horribly by Emily. Unfortunately he suffers the Jessica syndrome too and disappears after half way through the game.
8. Ashley -Liked her at the start and played her nice but damn....she still ended up being a bitch for some reason. She was completely heartless with Emily and Chris. She was kind of annoying to so I didn't really care when she died...and none of the others seemed to either.

Ashley - She mainly whined the whole game and didn't do much else.

Mike....I wanted to hate him, and in the first few chapters i did. But then they focused on him so much that you can't help but at least appreciate his resolve. When I made him friends with a wolf, how could I not like him after that?

Flamethrower Guy....why did you die so fast? I thought you'd become our true hero.

Hannah...As a ghost I wanted her to affect the story...but as a wendigo...part of me thought this might have been sweet justice. She sure was king of the wendigo, that's for sure.

Chris....Felt the most real to me. Generally nice, quirky, unsure of himself but willing to help out his friends. I liked him from the start and wanted him to live through it.

Sam....I think she's the only girl that didn't annoy me at some point. She's got way more good qualities than bad, and is kind of our femme hero. Plus she looked great in a towel.

Jess...I don't know why. Maybe I just felt bad for her. I liked her. Her role in the beginning was horrible...and got her off to the stereotypical bitch role...but by the time her and mike had a snowball fight I forgot all about it.

Josh...so crazy. Like someone said, possibly more sympathetic once it's revealed how crazy he is. When Mike slapped him near the end so he would snap out of it, and he tearfully asks him not to slap him anymore...i felt so bad for him.

Ashley...Pretty much middle ground. Nothing too much one way or the other, but im a sucker for a cheesy love story. Your welcome Chris.

Emily...Until she gets bit, I hated her. So annoying and bitchy. Once the threats become known tho i think she changes a bit, for the better. I didn't hate her by the ending but she was still lower on my list due to her earlier attitude.

Matt...Died too early for me. Barely had any interaction with a threat before he wound up on a meat hook.  Nice...but in an effort to have him act like an adult I think I inadvertently had him act like a passive weeny.
