Anyone notice tonight when Adam said "an Adam F. Goldberg Joint" and Erica said "Why the F?", and Adam said "There is another Adam Goldberg at school and he is super sensitive".. This is a nod to the real life reason he goes by Adam F. Goldberg, because douche bag actor Adam Goldberg (Saving Private Ryan, Dazed and Confused) has been an *beep* about him having the same name in the past. And then Erica saying "no one cares about either of you"... Just thought that was funny..

Just want to add, when you join the actors guild, you can't have the same name as another member. It's why Micheal J. Fox uses the J., there already was a Micheal Fox.

I imagine Adam Goldburg was going to have to use the F., because the other Adam Goldburg was already a member.

The other Adam Goldburg has been a dick on Twitter about it. I guess he didn't like people confusing the two of them at first.

If I were someone that was somewhat famous and someone who was more famous had the same name as me (and was confusing us), I'd be like, "I consider it an honor to be confused for the other (name here)..." That positive attitude would get those who confused me as him to follow me as well and that would help boost my success. But being a dick about it, that's going to turn people away and kill my popularity (which in turn would kill my negotiating power when it comes to being paid).

Ignorance on his part. Pure ignorance.

Ok, so call me stupid but I didn't know there was another Adam Goldberg till I read this thread. I did Google him and saw it was someone else said a guy who played Chandler's creepy roommate. Boy was that guy weird! I feel dumb now not knowing this. It's funny the show has mentioned him and of course that went over my head.

The creator of the show seemingly has declared war on the other Adam. I think he's mentioned him almost every ep this season. It's quite funny.

Other way around. By ACG being rude/mean about the name similarity with AFG, he started the war. So, AFG is just poking fun at it.

What makes this genuinely funny is that it's the truth and there is nothing that the ACG can do about it. It's not slander/libel/defamation, so he's stuck with it.

I think it's hilarious what Adam F. Goldberg is doing. It'll probably be a running gag for the entire season, then die-off at the beginning of the fifth season.

At first i thought it was funny but there's been about 3 or 4 jokes referring to 2 adam Goldbergs and it's starting to get old.

I love this show but I agree with actor Adam Goldberg. He's been acting for decades and it probably gets frustrating getting tweets asking questions about a TV show he's not involved with. He has his own career, his own tv show, and the confusion among fans doesn't help. I think most of us would be ok with getting confused with someone else at first, but after dozens or hundreds? of questions, I would probably start getting upset or mad.

Nah. Still cracks me up. It's definitely been more than 3 or 4 times. They are getting quite creative in how they put it into the show. Every week now I wonder how they will do it.

I laughed at it, but I never thought much more of it till your post here. Didn't realize there was an issue between them. Actor Goldberg needs to take a page out of the Rob Thomas playbook & find something good about it.

Last year, in the season finale of iZombie, they had Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty on there, and 1 of the bad guys on the show introduces him as "the one AND ONLY Rob Thomas" to the crowd... the inside joke being, the shows creator is also named Rob Thomas & they get confused for each other on twitter all the time.
