Bad Adaptation and I'll tell you why

While I agree this was a more faithful adaptation than the 2000 live-action version, it's still a very unnessecary adaptation that adds nothing to the story. The animation is decent, but the voice acting is weak and the humor is aimed at the youngest of audiences. It follows the generic Illumination trope of trying to be all cutesy first and actually tell a good story and jokes second. Also the characterization of the Grinch was terrible here. He came off more of a weak whiney brat than actually meancing and creepy like he did in the book and original cartoon. It feels much more like a movie ment to sell merchandise and capitalize off the classic story than really trying to make a good version of this story.

The Grinch in this adaptation is too soft. But I'm not surprised in this day and age. Everything has to be positive. This ain't the 90s no mo'.

He might as well have been a twink. He was such a wuss in this one.

You didn't mention it but I think the music in this sucked. The way they did the Grinch theme was annoying. At least Jim Carey's Grinch Theme sounded similar to the original.
