Ugh. I'm excited for 7 of course, but it just can't seem to find a right track. They want a huge time jump so they can begin a narrative of Sidney's daughters being teenagers. Having them be under that doesn't make them viable targets, because that's too young for the audiences to want to watch, typically. Also too young for them to take up the torch that Sidney would pass as final girls. It seemed inevitable they'd take the torch the moment it was revealed Sidney has daughters. Also, this series is cursed with trying to start new trilogies that don't come to completion. 4 and 5 were each supposed to start a new trilogy. And focus on just one, don't overstretch it. I don't want to wonder who Ghost Face is for 3 movies. Plus, they clearly should know by now that the best laid plans can still fall apart. And this just reeks of copying the recent Halloween trilogy. And no disrespect to Neve Campbell, but her absence hasn't been as long as Jamie Lee Curtis's was, and therefore her return won't feel like quite the triumphant homecoming. Especially since Laurie was generally fighting the same villain repeatedly. Sure they threw an occasional secondary antagonist at her, but it was always about Michael, even when they removed the sibling connection. Lastly, I also read a rumor about a Kirby spin-off, possibly even as a TV show. Oh please I hope that's not true, this isn't Marvel, and the Scream TV show sucked, let's not over-extend ourselves.

Not that I have strong feelings or anything.

Feels a bit like the last two seasons of Game of Thrones. Decent idea that won't go over well because the execution will feel rushed. No way around that if they're doing the time jump. This series has always aged in real life, and I'd like it to keep that.

I'd like Kirby to stick around for Scream 7, but absolutely not interested in a spin-off movie or show.
