Who's up for the last season of The Affair?

Got to admit I had and still have very mixed feelings about the last season, particularly the finale.

There were some excellent episodes and scenes in this last season, but the finale (IMO) fell very flat.

Two or more of the episodes felt like filler to me, so I was of course disappointed. Yet others (especially the penultimate) were *excellent* -- at least as good as or better than others, including other seasons'.

I have no idea where they're going next, which is good (I think, ha ha).

I'm still in love with the show, especially the Montauk episodes. I just dig that atmosphere. S2 and 3 are nowhere near S1 imo, but both have their good moments. I actually liked the S3 finale for its lack of drama, and it felt really good to see Noah reconnect with his kids.

Yeah, who knows what to expect in S4... I'm looking forward to it.

I like the episodes set in Montauk, and the ones in S2 in upper NY at Noah's writer's retreat.

Yes, that little house at the lake was a great location as well. Nothing comes close to Alison's house where she lived with Cole though, I'd love a place like that! I couldn't stand the stylish city appartment, but I really like how they use the settings to tell the state of the characters and their relationships in a way. Same with the house that Noah's father left him.

Was it a lake? I thought it was part of the Hudson. No matter where it was, it was beautiful, and I loved the cabin. I didn't like their NYC apartment either, but did love Helen and Noah's brownstone. Also liked his father's lakeside house.

OH, I'm sure you're right, for some reason I assumed it was a lake, but I don't know anything about that area. Yeah the brownstone was great as well. :-)
