The key to a happy marriage: Accept husband's love child w/mistress?

The outcome of Rose agreeing to raise the young girl of her husband's fling, is perfectly in keeping with Rose's character. She is, after all, a Christian woman; and what sincere Christian mother/woman would turn out an infant through no fault of its own, would come into the world. Besides, the child would be a half-sibling to Troy's 2 other sons. And for all you know, maybe Rose always wanted a daughter of her own to raise; and since she was past her child-bearing years; this was the next best thing. And it was the Christian thing to do.

She was like a 50 year old woman in the 1950's with no job skills and little work skills and probably zero post HS education. You know how hard she would struggle if she left Troy? Any woman would be in a rough spot with those odds, add on top of that that she was black and good luck!

The baby also trapped her because she couldn't allow herself to forsake that child. In the end though she wanted up loving and cherishing the baby as her own. In an inadvertent way, it was Troy's last great gift to her.

i think a good man can err, he was a good man , not a perfect man but a hard working good man who loved his wife , the fact that there was another women don't mean he did;t love her , hilery clinton and bill clinton love one another and the fact that he had his indiscretions doesn't take away from the love that he has for her. relationship evolve and as you age you will recognize that
