Great performances but ...

I honestly did not know that the film was based on a play, but as the minutes went by, I got the feeling I was watching a play. Later I learned what the film was actually based on.

I got bored a lot.

Personally it is not enough for me that the performances are awesome,(they are for sure) if the film in general does not have an interesting dynamism in the screen, a well marked tension.

The situations and the settings are very tight and conflicts are treated in a very repetitive way in dialogues and scenes, making the movie way too long for the matter IMO.

I totally agree. I wish I could have said it as well as you did.

The acting was great but the story never pulled me in. I just wanted to tell Troy to shut up a lot.

Thanks!

I have to agree. I wanted to tell him to shut up too.

I completely agree. I was so bored and I really wanted to like it.

That was the biggest problem with the film. It was not cinematic. It was just long drawn out scenes with simplistic camerawork.

I saw this movie about a week ago for the first time. Twenty minutes in, I thought, is Troy ever going to let anyone else get a word in?
