I kinda doubt the more negative reviews for this film exist because Del Toro’s style doesn’t work for everyone. While there is truth to that argument, it is no mystery why films like Pan’s Labyrinth and now The Shape of Water are universally acclaimed... whereas films like Crimson Peak and Pacific Rim didn’t excite people too much. And yes, I am a fan. Anyway...
