Did Marvel kill Star Wars ??

seems so

The Last Jedi killed it. Or more precisely, the way it deeply divided the fanbase. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Nah I think Star Wars is still kicking pretty good. Solo seems to be the only box office disappointment and it's not even a bad film, it's certainly not great, but it had the unfortunate position of being released after TLJ which was a film that still made 1.3 WW. TFA made 2 billion. The last film in the Saga, let's not get into the wonky title, will probably also make around the 1 or 1.5. I'll be honest, I'm not excited for it, but I just need to see how this thing ends and I expect a lot of people feel the same way.

Certainly Marvel has redefined the box office over the last ten years with Avengers, BP, IW, and Endgame, but why would that kill Star Wars? All of the recent SW films, with the exception of Solo, have been box office gold. I don't think Disney, which owns both IP's, is going stop making either of the films any time soon. I do think that for SW to continue to be successful they need to get away from the Saga which they are doing. I am looking forward to more SW's films outside of the Saga like the Mandalorian. On the other side, I'm not as excited about the MCU now that Cap and Ironman are gone, but it was a fun ride for the most part and they did make a few gems during their tenure.
