Mad Max is Star Wars for Grown Ups

Since Lucas was seduced by the sexy billion $$$ of merchandise sales with Return of the Jedi, every Star Wars movie's primary audience since then is little kids who buy toys. Evidence: Ewoks and Jar Jar Binks. But at least RoTJ had Jabba the Hutt and sex slaves. The prequels even tackled political legislatures and the fall of democracy.

With Disney and Kathleen Kennedy, they will adhere even more rigidly to this approach. From here on out, the Star Wars movies will have more tweenified Adam Drivers and Daisey Ridleys, more cute cgi sidekicks, and increasingly dumbed down, simplified storylines.

George Miller and Mad Max is the only refuge left for adults who still want entertaining action movies with complex and intriguing stories.

Uhg...Lucas' merch rights go all the way back to '77....lucrative yes...billions...not yet. Even in '99 the most lucrative contract was with PepsiCo...and that was for500million...where you get billions seduced him in '83 is beyond me...oh no it's not...you pulled it out your ass!

The only kids playing with Star Wars merchandise are grown-up "kids."

Real kids, at least that I know, play with Captain America, Minions, Spongebob and Spider-Man toys.
