Even if you're correct, which you're not, the Batman franchise survived and was rebooted to even greater success. Star Wars will continue to thrive if not because of TLJ then in spite of it. That makes all the disappointed tears look that much more silly.

So Batman was ripped apart by most movie goers back then? Strange, cant remember such a scenario. At my cinema everyone cheered when Nicholson quoted "Ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?". Surely my fault. Must have been some different movie.

And it was surely some diffent movie which got the shortest top 10 leading position of any Star Wars movie and lost 44% of its income within one week after release.

What you're referring to is the Tim Burton Batman, which is a beloved classic. Joel Schumacher did Batman and Robin, a contender for one of the worst movies ever made, and it effectively killed the Batman franchise for seven years until Christopher Nolan rebooted it.
