So wait. Let me get this straight... Luke, Kylo an the Knights of Ren

[spoiler] so Luke was about to kill Kylo. Yet he didn't think of killing the would be Knights of Ren? Don't make sense. Didn't he detect the same darkness in them too? Wouldn't it have been easier to strike them down first before ending with Kylo?[/spoiler]

Yeah it doesn't really make sense. That's probably why they just dropped them completely from this movie. It was more important to make Luke look bad I guess.

Snoke was manipulating Kylo specifically. It's likely that Kylo was responsible for turning the others to the dark side.

From the movie on the night when he and the knights killed all the other Jedi trainees they were already turned. This was the same night Luke was about to kill him in his sleep. But are you saying they had the same skills as Darth Sidious and were able to hide their darkside from Luke, better than Kylo?

I don't think Johnson knows what the Knights of Ren are. Pretty sure that was a something JJ put together that needed fleshed out but apparently Johnson doesn't like continuing story lines set up by somebody else.
