Saw this on Amazon Prime, very disturbing. (spoilers)

Lots of dumb, mean and stupid comments here on this movie.
I just wish I could put comments from the old IMDB on ignore
because some people just ruin the whole idea of an online
discussion forum.

Now to the movie. At first I was irritated by how naive and stupid
this girl was in the way she lived her life. I almost did not watch
it because it was so offensive and stupid. But I watched a bit more
and got kind of curious as to what this movie as really all about.

It seemed like the events of a frivolous and thoughtless teenage
girl and then morphed into a kind of murder mystery as we are
told at the end of the movie that she disappeared and was never
heard from again.

I don't know which idea upsets me more. That this movie is a
kind of almost pornographic, soft core, movie that is meant to be
a "scared-straight" kind of FICTIONAL story that is fictional, and
thus making the last minutes of the movie a kind of dirty trick or
fear inducing lesson to get at young women in the audience to
change their evil ways ... which I doubt one movie can do.

Or if this is actually a fictionalized account of a real girl who was
blogging and at the end of the blog went missing, possibly kidnapped
or murdered.

Whatever, the movie should say somewhere whether it is true or
not. I would say stay away from a movie like this because it is at
the heart of it dishonest and manipulative, even if it does make
you think, but how can thinking about something that is twisted
and meant to be entertainment by real.

I wish I had not watched this. It spent the whole movie trying to
be titillating and sexy in a forbidden kind of gross way, and then it
flips over into a public service announcement of a girl's disappearance.
Very dishonest and exploitative.

Has anyone who has seen this movie anything to offer in terms of
an opinion on it?

I liked it for some insightful observations. It works for me because I disregard the final few minutes as a tacked-on coda that doesn't really follow from the movie preceding it. The fact that this movie would conjure so many words to describe your reaction to it is arguably a testament to its artistic merit.

Basically, I agree with your views despite reading the movie in a different way. For me it was one of the best teen films of the last decade.
