Why has no one spotted this? (Spoilers)

Look, I enjoyed the film enough, though thou shalt not kill Bond should be a commandment in the writers' room! But, here is the thing: Q gave Bond a watch with a mini EMP. Did anyone else think that this could be used against nonobots to fry them? Bond could have cured himself!
