So...Ghost Protocol or Rogue Nation??

There's no wrong answer, I'm just curious to see what other people think. I loved both films, but I was blown away by GP (had no real expectations going in), while I did have high expectations for RN (and it surpassed them for a while...but I ultimately felt it didn't live up to them, though I enjoyed the film very much).
So while loving both films, and reserving the right to change my vote upon rewatch, I have to go with Ghost Protocol.

I will also say Ghost Protocol but there is a hair between them. It would depend in what mood I am in to say which one I would watch.

ROTFLMAO... Another review says: "Thank You! A Must See!", LOL.

It's making money like crazy and any negative comment I make, anywhere, is getting down-voted like they're all hanging on the end of TC's pipe. No comprendo, the Rogue Nation's so boring and foul... A (really) terrible movie, which seems to have been made for complete idiots (no joke, wait 'till you see it :))

Whatever, it seems to be on the (intellectual?) level of the majority of the audience(s), so there's no real use talking about it. xD

saw it. i'm not a complete idiot. it's not terrible.

You say it's made for complete idiots, yet you didn't list any examples for why that is. The plot was fine and the action was even better.

My opinion: Rouge Nation

Rogue Nation imo.

Ghost protocal felt more like a cartoon.a fun one but still a cartoon.

Seconded, I felt that GP dragged on in parts and the humour was cheesy. RN on the other hand was just beyond spectacular, It had a lot of suspense I was on my edge of my seat for the whole film.

I agree, Rogue Nation was better, and was a more serious movie.

Ghost Protocol. Went in expecting RN to be as good, but was disappointed.

Same here. Didn't like Rogue Nation at all: Very few action scenes, didn't care about drawn out conversations with the girl, no Paula Patton, the rest of the IMF barely did anything in the movie.

Ghost protocol had the it all.

And Ghost Protocol was full of action right? This movie had a lot more action than that movie.

Agree.

That's bang on the money and exactly how i feel. After having seen MI3, which wasn't bad by all means, i still kinda lost faith in this franchise as it seemed to have become something it wasn't at first, so when i entered Ghost Protocol, i had no expectations whatsoever and was surprised to be completely blown away! This is still to date one of the best action movies of all time, almost everything was perfect.

The Dubai scene OMG, i can't remember any other movie that gave my vertigo such a hard time as this one, my palms were sweaty, shivers down the spine and i literally jump scared when he fell after failing to break the window. Still one of the most tense scene i've ever seen. Then how he hits his head and seemingly falls to his death before being grabbed by the leg by legolas, almost had a heart attack watching this!

The way they set up the bad guys in the meeting on different floors, the tension in that scene is impressive. But how the spy girl falls to her death though... -_-'

Then the sandstorm, gee, how cool was that? The way they run after each other like mutants, sometimes Cruise would loose sight of him but uses sheer intuition, picks up the slightest little clues and finds him again in the storm (A scene similar to the Bourne Supremacy one, when Bourne is hunted down by Karl Urban in Russia, the killer similarly picks up small clues and signs in the crowd to find him. Loved that scene).

I love the sandstorm scene also because never had it be shown like that how Hunt just never gives up. Like never. The resourcefulness of that guy is unmatched! And in that regard, i also love how the bad guy thinks he escaped at one time and expects Hunt to be behind him, but no, Hunt is in front of him sending a speeding car at him like a projectile. Just awesome.

The bad guy must have thought... "Wait... WHAT?! I'm not even mad, that's amazing!"

The Kremlin scene, even if farfetched, was really cool too, the moving screen, Hunt changing appearance in 3 sec, the explosion, the way he escapes the cop, the little talk they have while he smokes a cigarette.

Also, i guess i'm one of the few, but i found the last scene in the automated car park tower really convincing and original. Something else than the regular mother-of-all explosions that kills the bad guy while he screams.

Every scene in that movie is classic material. From the first prison scene where Cruise so elegantly jumps from one floor to the one below (how cool was that??) to the last scene in the car tower, everything was perfect.

And special mention to Holloway's badassery at the beginning and his sad death.

The only real flaw of this movie is having Pegg as comic relief, my God is he annoying. It's the worst casting choice they've ever made in the series if you ask me.

On the other hand, what has RN to offer? That lengthy opera scene? The jump into the water scene, which was pretty cool i admit, but nothing spectacular? The bad guy who happens to be an awesome Micheletto but a very poor M:I antagonist? The uninspired bike chase scene at the end?

I don't know, this movie really felt uninspired and miles behind GP in terms of thrills, action scenes, entertainment and story-wise. Really disappointing compared to the previous installment which set a new bar for quality and entertainment value in this franchise. Hope the next is gonna be just as good.

@arespilgrim1334 The band capering about in the pre-credits was fun...
Hell yeah. The most exciting pre-credits sequence of the franchise.

Rogue Nation. But just barely. The entire Dubai sequence in Ghost Protocol is still my favorite sequence in the entire series though. I think Rogue Nation was just a tad better overall.
