PREDICTIONS for Ep 6 (the Season 4 Finale)

I predict the CAT 4 STORM that Rose said is coming will UNEARTH whatever is buried on the property that Danvers and Navarro were accused of trespassing on (because the security camera caught them standing there looking at the debris that covers the entrance to the ICE CAVE).

So even if they fall into the ice and die, and neither Danvers nor Navarro survives, whatever the company is trying to hide will still be exposed.

Anyone else have any other predictions for the last episode???

And hopefully Rose will also have some connections (due to her former status as a professor), who can OVERRIDE anything that Captain Connelly or the other woman who controls the mine try to do as a way to cover things up again after the STORM exposes what's been happening.

This isn't a prediction, but it does superbly illustrate the reason why EPISODE 5 is so BRILLIANT, and it also reveals why the MAIN characters aren't as ALONE as they might seem to be:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TDNightCountry/comments/1anz6ng/dont_think_about_it/

This was such an unbelievably amazing scene. Prior trying to figure out what to do, Danvers and Hank both urging him in opposite directions.. essentially he has to choose between them. He chooses Danvers (way more complicated than that, but essentially) and Hank sees he’s lost him. He’s lost everything. You can see the moment Prior chooses, then Hank realizes and resigns himself. He delivers a ’dying’ confession and haunting last words for his son. It was the coward’s way out, making his son shoot him. He doesn’t even put his finger on the trigger when he points it at Danvers. He’s not an idiot as we were told earlier. He knows Prior will protect her.

Prior’s reaction is kneejerk. He loves Danvers. (Not romantically.) This is what Kayla felt, maybe unconsciously, that triggered her jealousy. His instinct is to protect Danvers as a son would a mother. He pulled the trigger probably before he even knew he did. And then after Hank is shot, Danvers cradles Prior like a mother would, because they are each other’s surrogates. On the surface it’s a mentor/mentee relationship, but underneath the ice they’re mother & son. The son Danvers lost and the mother Prior lost.

So Danvers is a SURROGATE MOTHER for Pete, the same way as he's a SURROGATE son for her (with Pete having lost his mother/Danvers having lost her son).

And likewise, Rose has also been like a SURROGATE MOTHER to Navarro.

So will Rose also be willing to help Pete the same way as she's helped Navarro???

What would you do if someone came to your door asking you to help them get rid of 2 bodies and one of them was also the father of that person???

What is it that makes Navarro so sure that Rose will help Pete and take him to where she left the remains of her sister Julia?

And why didn't she also ask Pete to get help from Qavvik instead of from Rose???

And why wasn't Qavvik also there to support her when she places Julia's ashes into the sea... especially when Julia was also his employee???

At the end of the opening song we see what looks like the damaged DREDGE where they find OTIS.

And this link explains the function of or the reason why a DREDGE is used:

https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/dredging.html

Dredging often is focused on maintaining or increasing the depth of navigation channels, anchorages, or berthing areas to ensure the safe passage of boats and ships.

Dredging is also performed to reduce the exposure of fish, wildlife, and people to contaminants and to prevent the spread of contaminants to other areas of the water body. This environmental dredging is often necessary because sediments in and around cities and industrial areas are frequently contaminated with a variety of pollutants. These pollutants are introduced to waterways from point sources such as sewer overflows, municipal and industrial discharges, and spills; or may be introduced from nonpoint sources such as surface runoff and atmospheric deposition. NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration plays a major role in protecting and restoring marine natural resources when environmental damage occurs.

The disposal of dredged material is managed and carried out by federal, state, and local governments, as well as by private entities such as port authorities. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issues permits for the disposal of dredged material; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency provides oversight and authorization for the disposal of dredged materials.

Therefore I predict the lack of DREDGING in ENNIS is causing the behavior of the CARIBOU, POLAR BEAR, and the pollution of the water, etc. And the ICE CAVES are probably also used by the mining company as a way to get rid of it's contaminants, which is causing the pollution, because DREDGING is no longer taking place.

And if the SPIRALS represents DANGER (warnings of places where the ICE SWALLOWS you up), Note the way we've got SPIRAL WARNINGS located 1) inside of the DREDGE (where OTIS is found), 2) inside the place where they found OLIVER (before he disappears), and 3) inside of Clark's RV.

And WHY would Clark and Annie choose to wear SPIRALS on their bodies??? Is this also to signify DANGER or a WARNING of some kind??? Or something else? Because didn't Rose also say that the SPIRAL was OLDER than the ICE???

I also predict the CAT 4 STORM will completely destroy the property where the MINE is located, thus also putting an end to the pollution of the town's water supply.

And the SLOGAN that we hear the protestors saying:

We were here before, we'll still be here when you are gone

will also come to pass (even though it will also mean that half the town won't have jobs anymore).

Down here in Hurricane country a CAT 4 STORM has winds of almost 150 mph. So if a SNOW STORM uses the same measurements, that's also going to be a lot of "HUFFING & PUFFING" taking place Up there in ENNIS ... More than enough to "BLOW the MINE down."

Anyone remember the story about the 3 Little Pigs and the WOLF:

Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in.' So he huffed, and he puffed, and he puffed, and he huffed, and at last he blew the house down, and he ate up the little pig.

And Leah also complained to NAVARRO in Ep. 5 about how they were all "PIGS."

The bigger question for me is how they are EVER going to answer all the open questions and close all the plot threads in ONE episode absent some ludicrous deus ex machina. I am SO sick of "limited series" that are so cheap and/or lazy to only produce a small handful on episode. I long for the days of a series of a dozen or two episodes.

I understand how you feel due to the way Season 1 of TD was a HUGE let down ... with NO explanation given for the reason why one of the detectives finds his girls playing with dolls that they'd arranged in the same positions as we see people arranged in the video where someone is murdered.

And then we have the KILLER revealed at the end of the story as being someone we've hardly ever seen before (other than his briefly riding by on the lawnmower in the background).

Hopefully this season won't pull the same kind of CHEAP TRICKS as the first season. And we'll also get better answers to any questions that we have.

And YES there are also LOTS of questions that they'd need to address in order to satisfy people who've been watching the show with very little TIME left remaining to do so.

Here's part of an interesting article where they suggest the show ends with a "To Be Continued" next season CLIFFHANGER:

Night Country Doesn't End Next Week

This theory is courtesy of yours truly. There's too much plot to wrap up in just one episode. We've got multiple dead bodies, no killer, no motive, and no clear way to find the answers. Will Navarro and Danvers magically find everything in the ice caves? We can't even tell if the ghosts are real or not! Hell, one of our own Esquire's editors thinks that a few of season 4's characters are trying to open a portal to a dimension in Hell. It's a long shot, but the most interesting twist in my book would be a cliffhanger. Then, the screen reads, Night Country: Season 2... 2025. Everyone and their one-eyed polar bear is trying to figure this damn thing out. Why stop now?

Can you imagine the kind of messages that would be posted if this happens???

Another thing to NOTE is how in the PHOTO of PETER as a child with his mother he's seen holding a STUFFED TOY POLAR BEAR with an EYE missing (like the other one that Danver's throws out the front door that belonged to her son).

Is it the same TOY??? Did Pete give it to her son? Since he use to babysit for Leah, one could see the reason why he might have given it to the young boy.

Or could the One eyed toy bear have a more sinister meaning of some kind???

I guess they kind of wrapped up the main mystery (how the scientists died), but still so much left unanswered and easter eggs left unexplained. The plot/script could have been pared down A LOT and still have been as or more interesting and satisfying. Kind of like they were worried the season wouldn't be engaging enough so they just threw in a bunch of random stuff that never got explained. Not least of which is all the dead people everyone kept seeing. What was that all about in the end???

Rose said ghosts visit for 3 reasons: 1. because they miss you 2. want to tell you something you should know 3. they want to take you with them.

Perhaps Travis shows Rose how to find the bodies because he died of cancer (which the Scientist caused by asking for more pollution)??? So maybe he's letting her know his death has been revenged???

What's even more curious is how the NECKLACE (the cross of Navarro's mother that she threw out the window onto the highway) ends up tangled up in DANVER's hair when she's sleeping in Clark's bed at Tsala. Did Clark find it??? Is that how it got in his bed??? Julia also saw it on the body under her bed at the LIGHTHOUSE (which is also why she leaves and kills herself).

I was hoping Navarro would ask Peter to do a computer search for PROFESSORS so that we could have found out more about the background of ROSE and what kind of articles she'd written (like we saw the other background info regarding the Scientist).

But unfortunately whatever kind of a PROFESSOR she use to be will also remain a mystery.
