On Netflix now

Finally got to see it. Got to say, I dug this movie. The direction and the storytelling felt like a Godzilla movie directed by old-school Steven Spielberg. As if he combined 'Empire of the Sun' with 'Jaws'.
The one thing that felt like a bit of a letdown oddly enough was the CGI. I didn't think it was terrible per se but kind of standard quality you'd see in a 2010s blockbuster. Like the Jurassic World movies or Rampage;surprised it won the Oscar now.
But the dramatic weight in the destruction scenes and the emotional heft with the acting kept me enthralled. Glad I got to see it.
