The Maple fan edit saved this trilogy.

Sorry if it’s been said before, but the Maple edit is the Hobbit book and it is brilliant. It’s basically what happens in the book with all the other crap cut out. Turns out there was a good film in there after all.

I will be adding it to my LoTR watch-throughs from now on.

Yep, I watched it and it was AWESOME....WAY better than the dragged out movies that were originally released..now I can watch the Maple fan edit and then watch the extended LOTR trilogy as it was meant to be watched.

reply

True. People need to see the edit, it is the book on film. And yes it is now part of my LotR marathon.

reply

I meant to watch it but never got to it and now it's gone :(.

reply

Looks like its still on the Maple website.

I just finished watching the trilogy and it was quite a chore. They weren't bad but they didn't need to be so damn long. I don't think I can rewatch it again even though this fan edit is "only" 4 hours long.

reply

Just think of it as two 2 hour films. It has a break in the middle. It depends if you like the book or not, because it is pretty much following the book with zero filler crap.
