Petition to stop Jumanji remake

The fact that they are even contemplating remaking this movie is an extreme show of disrespect to the memory of Robin Williams. Hollywood has become a swamp of sellout joke artists who have no originality by taking the amazing movies of our childhood and ruining them for the future generations with substandard scripts, bad directing, and horrible casting decisions. If you are a fan of the original or a Robin Williams fan in general stand up with me and boycott the making of this movie. Let us rise together to put a stop to the nonsense that is remaking good 90's movies.

RIP Robin Williams

Yes, no need for a remake, the original is more than enough, let the kids of today know how proper movies were made back in the day :)

Somebody probably said kids don't know how movies are properly made when they saw the CGI-heavy silly movie that was Jumanji.

Honestly - I liked the original film and I'm glad that they are going to do a remake.

Technology has caught up that the film can really live up to the vision that it wanted to be all those years ago.

Plus - think of how many feels this would generate for the original film, it would probably kickstart sales of the original film again, which is never a bad thing.

And finally - You're acting like there has never been a remake of a film after an actor/actress has passed! It not in the least bit disrespectful. The only thing that is shaming Robin Williams' memory is you acting like an idiot. Do you honestly think that he would stand in the way of this film?

best reply in the thread!

I think the best petition would be is not to watch it, which I will do. Jumanji was/is one of my favorite films with an incredible soul and I definitely don't see why a remake would make a sense. Is Hollywood really out of stories to make a film about?

I'd sign that petition. Not because I love Jumanji (silly movie to me) or because I attach Robin Williams' legacy to that fluff, Spielberg-lite movie,

But because it's so obviously going to be a DUMB movie! Why do they bother??

Cute that Johnson and Hart are such good buddies, but this is going to be chock-full of bad jokes, silly action, tiresome Hart antics, and lots of tacked on 3D effects.

EDIT:
Oh, and Jack Black? I'll subtract three stars (and add three more names to the petition) just for him. :)

What good is a petition gonna do? It's not gonna get enough signatures and even if it does they aren't going to listen so you might as well let it go. The movie will be made and the actors will get their money and everybody will move on.

It will not make the original movie any less enjoyable then its already been since 1995.

I agree. I love Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, but I can't stand Jack "pothead" Black. He isn't funny, apparently people have to be stoned to think so,and I don't do drugs,or drink booze. Kevin Hart,is the flip-side,he's usually hilarious.

As you said, remaking this movie is a slap in the face to the memory of Robin Williams, who was perfection in this. Out of all the movies and TV shows he's done, this is my favorite of them all,,and have seen it at least 8 times!!!

Jumanji is a great movie and Hollywood is out of control with all of these remakes they need to stop they're angering a lot of people and in this case as you said they are disrespecting the memory of Robin Williams, the only way they will stop is if people don't see them and then they will actually loose money on them.

Comments like this just show how selfish and egotistical people have become.
