Did she want to be ''loved'' by the media and the country?

I just get that feeling... she wanted to get her husband ''back'' but also wanted adoration from the media as some kind of craved attention/validation. Does anyone else get the same feeling?

Most definitely. Amy loves being in the center of attention, and she gets upset if anyone says she's not perfect or gives her anything less than 100% adoration.

Agreed...and that made it even harder for our hero to forgive her (still very good, though long at about 2.5 hrs., flick.)

You should see how long the book is. It's over 400 pages.
