I felt so sorry for Louise + Brian... (spoilers for finale)

I watched the final episode yesterday and am really going to miss this show. The finale shocked me, but the most shocking part was when Gavin (spoiler) killed Brian and Louise by trapping them behind that wall (end spoiler)... that was so ruthless! I really loved them and I mean really, what did they do wrong - for real? Yes, they both made mistakes: Brian was totally wrong for sleeping with Alexis because she gave him inspiration for his writing, Louise was wrong for sleeping with Harlan... but I mean, they never did anything more serious. Yes, they went through some really tough relationship trouble but they loved each other and I believed them to be really good people. Lou didn't almost kill Alexis on purpose, she was sick (yes, I believe that people who are addicted to one thing or another have a disease and need help, but can't be held responsible entirely because they are not necessarily bad people). And they most certainly didn't kill Alexis on purpose... she attacked them and by smashing her, Brian saved Lou's life. It was total self defense, only the police wouldn't believe that because of Lou's history, which is sad really.

It was so tragic... I really didn't see it coming. When Gavin appeared, I thought he was going to help them, that he would understand why they did it... but when he sentanced them to dead instead, I couldn't believe it. Lou crying out of fear and Brian hugging her and saying ''at least we're together'' really broke my heart...

never did anything more serious?

I have to disagree. Consenting adults having sex is no big deal, hitting any creature with a car and leaving them to suffer is. Even with an addiction, Louise could have stopped driving or at least checked hospital/police records to confirm what happened that night and try to make some amends.

You have to understand, Gavin is a devil. He's in the business of granting wishes in exchange for usurping souls for his personal power. Everything is a chess piece for him. Other than the love triangle drama that played out (for his own personal amusement), their true purpose was to be revealed by being devoured by the apartment but I guess Gavin really liked Alexis because he chose to dispose of them different then allowing the walls or floors to slurp them up.

They were one of the worst parts of the show, boring and unlikeable.
