Unfair traps overall? *spoilers*

So this is a Saw movie after all and major suspension of disbelief is required for most things. But did anyone else feel the traps were a bit too wonky and did not suit the punishments for each character?

Cabbie/Surgeon/Diego was probably second most responsible, if we go by OR hierarchy and interactions with John. Yet he gets the easiest trap to beat with flaying his forearms being enough. John even comes in with the medkit assist as if it were a Wolfenstein installment. Sure I guess he gave him some info on Parker Sears but still.

Cecilia herself, gets to be evil and do so much damage to cancer patients, then gets enough free reign to be even more evil during the game (kill Gabby after she escapes, mess with the kid, etc.) and gets such an easily escapable trap? The movie implies that the person survives, so whatever agent it was, it couldn't have done too much damage, a few boils here and there and she just waits it out until she is released or someone finds her. Unlikely to even get arrested, as I doubt some Mexican cops will care about some international financial scams that you can't even prove. Her and her father are likely based on William Donald Kelley, so unlikely for anything to have happened, so I guess she is off scott free to resume her operations.

Nurse - come on, such a gnarly punishment for smiling and lying about a few blood samples? It'd be the hardest one to actually pull off and escape, and even if she did she'd likely bleed out/go into shock waiting for all the time it took for the others to have their go.

Mateo - also near impossible to pull off due to the dexterity required. Not as bad if he doesn't take too much cortex from some key areas, but kinda rigged again with high likelihood of failing, since both he and the nurse only had 3 minutes each. At least give them a bit more time given how hard their tasks were.

Gabby - probably the only one that got a balanced trap re: their accountability imo, but still a much harder trap than Cecilia's.

And besides John having a soft spot for the kid and giving him his money, what about the kid's dad? You'd assume everyone at the facility was involved in it since it's a fly by night operation that won't be around the next day.

Same goes for the 3 van masked men, but I guess they were minor players that John didn't want to bother with and complicate things even more.

this bugged me too. also, did most of these people deserve such a punishment at all? they seemed to be just some poor mexicans who are involved in this just for a few bucks to make ends meet. i reckon they didn't get payed a lot by the blonde woman or was it mentioned that they get an equal share? and then they went through the painful games and died anyway, just because of being a few seconds too slow. at first i thought, maybe that's the point that they weren't supposed to survive the traps, because jigsaw was given "false hope" with his cancer treatment, hence the traps are designed to give them false hope, too. but then, gabriella surviving her trap didn't make sense.

.........did most of these people deserve such a punishment at all?

Yes, yes they did, you saw the wads of cash they were to receive for the role they played when she was stuffing the cash in the bag with their names on it right? They scammed John out of 250K for a hope at living, they deserved to die in the most horrific way.

In general, anyone who prays on people like this deserve summary execution no matter what part they play... you're knowingly in on it, you die. Bleeding hearts need not apply.
