Declining quickly

Today's episode was a great example of this program's significant decline. Simply put, the hosts are having a very hard time reporting the news. Instead almost every story is loaded down with the opinions of the person reading, followed by a round table discussion of the feelings and suppositions of one and all. Some stories that should be quckly handled are painfully drawn out into moments of laughter or drama or both. Other stories are clearly presented so that the cast can take turns mounting a soap box and offering their personal beliefs. Though not yet to the level of The Today Show where everything is either a joke or a contrived moment for tears, the CBS crew seems to be headed in that direction. If you really care about how Gayle and Nora feel about something (everything?) then this is the program for you. If you want to have the news fairly reported and then make up your own mind consider finding a new source. Charlie seems to struggle with the goings on and I doubt he will be a fixture much longer.

But it's a great program when you don't care what's on and you just want to pick your nose for awhile.

Report: CBS is ready to "overhaul" CBS This Morning

https://pagesix.com/2018/12/13/overhaul-ahead-for-cbs-this-morning-amid-network-turmoil/

Ryan Kadro officially announced his exit this morning. The CBS This Morning executive producer, who has helmed the show since April 2016, will depart effective Jan. 4, 2019. Amid Kadro stepping down, Page Six reports that CBS executives "are ready to nuke its struggling morning show and rebuild it from the ground up. A thriving CBS This Morning was thrown into disarray by Charlie Rose’s sudden exit — and we’re told that top brass have come to believe that the show overall is not going to recover." Page Six adds that in the aftermath of Rose's ouster, the "impressive momentum" developed by Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell, joined later by John Dickerson, "quickly faltered." A source tells Page Six: “There are real discussions about just starting over — anchors, format, producers. Everything is on the table."

I like morning shows. Always have em on when i'm doing my coffee and breakfast routine. I go back and forth watching this and Today. They've both become absolute garbage. Today has yet to recover from Lauer's loss and I definitely think this show is a lost cause. You can't get the news at all anymore. Just gab.
