Seeing Zubak in her Dream/ BEETS vs COBALT MINING ???

Elena: I wonder, where were we last night?

Zubak: I’m sorry?

E: That place we met, where was it?

Z: Last night?

E: Yes, my love. Our dream.

Don’t you remember?

Z: Sugar beets.

E: Yes, that’s right. Sugar beets.

Lovely, weren’t they?

What's this dream stuff all about?

Is Kate's character insane???

At first he seems to deny that he's seen her before, but the next day he seems to go along with her goofy claim that she saw him again in her dream by saying "BEETS???"

Perhaps he's suggesting to her that they concentrate on their BEET INDUSTRY and do away with the COBALT mines???

Here's a link that describes how COBALT is used in the batteries of ELECTRIC VEHICLES:

That's the transcript of what they said to each other.

And here's a link that describes what they think is going on:

The recurring discussion of dreams reinforces how neither character has any desire to live in the world as they see it—Elena’s insistence that what happens in their dreams is part of their evolving relationship is an effort to validate the fantasies she relies on to maintain power, while Zubak’s willingness to fuel that narrative comes from his desire to be more than nobody

In this link Kate claims we're watching a LOVE STORY:

The Regime” is a love story.

“This unexpected, twisted, extraordinarily, weirdly beautiful love story between these two social misfits, who come crashing together, and become obsessed with one another,” she told reporters.
“There’s something phenomenally touching about Elena and Zubeck together … we had to make sure we were finding a rhythm and energy for them that was intriguing as well as bizarre.”

And here's part of the conversation that they have when she first meets him:

--------------------

E: So you’re from Westgate, I hear.
Z: Yes, Chief.
E: Land of the sugar beet. Stunning place.
Z: Not so much, Chief.
E: And your parents?
Z: They are dead.
E: Mine too

Elena: Do you know it’s the oddest thing? I feel like we’ve met before.
Like a déjà vu thing or something.
Or like we met in a dream.
Have we?

Zubak: I don’t think so, Chief.

E: Hm.
I’d say we’re just about meant for each other, wouldn’t you?

------------------

So she falls in love with him and thinks "they're meant for each other" because he's a NOBODY who doesn't have parents???

This is a very WEIRD love story.

Agree???

Disagree???
