I Liked It. You May Not.

Experimental cinema? Avant garde? I don't really know what one calls this. I don't know of any other film like it-- not to say there isn't one-- and it's almost impossible to describe in normal film terminology. And if I could describe it, I wouldn't, because you need to go into this blind.

It isn't for everyone, and if you're looking for a film with a normal narrative thread, or even normal cinematography, you should look elsewhere.

The only thing I will add is that I feel this film can only work in a theater setting. In a theater it was gripping and powerful; at home I think it would be a bore.

As I watched it the sense of tedium from the outset gave way to an interest in what was going to happen next.

I’ve found myself thinking about it several times after viewing it. When a movie does this that means it’s still providing entertainment, so I give it credit for that too…

I say it's a bore. The only amusement I had was thinking how upset someone would be trying to watch this on a little phone screen...

I didn't watch much. By 10 minutes in I started skipping ahead and probably skimmed the film in another 7 minutes. It is over an hour and forty minutes... And I am a big fan of Tarkovsky, so slow is not a problem, but slow and oblique and without any perceptible narrative...? No.

I don't think it works well at home. This is a theater film.

I really think this would drive me out of the theater.

One thing I can say for this movie is that the title song off the soundtrack fricken rocked!
