Still weird how humans died out and apes took over. Since we see here that many humans had genetic immunity

There was good phrase that one woman said in this movie: "We all gave genetic immunity. Otherwise we would be long dead".

I always thought that virus simply dumbed down humans and made apes smarter and that why in the future few remained humans were savages. While here we see that its not the case. Humans died but those who had immunity - lived. And there were lots of them. And their lived driving cars and trying to restore electricity.

While apes became a little smarter but not that much. And didn't think about taking over humans. Everyone lived separately and minded their own business. And even in some one city humans would die out and monkey live - still in other parts of planet it would not be the case. Humans would survive and restore civilization. And monkeys could not produce so many children to overcrowd remaining humans.

Like in some jungle countries maybe. But not in Canada or Norway type of cold countries. Not in Europe where there aren't that many monkeys. Only some in the zoo. And it's not like monkeys would fly from South America to take over. People would live in Middle East too. They live now mostly without electricity and civilization and are fine.

Worst case scenario - Latin America could be overtaken by apes mainly to the fact that ape live there in the jungles now. And some parts of Asia. But not Europe, desert and cold countries.

Would be interesting for movies to explore it once. To show apes ruling Americas. But humans ruling Europe.

I think an overwhelming percentage of the modern population wouldn't be able to survive without modern conveniences.
