I recall seeing the very first of these new apes movies w/James Franco and I recall seeing the starship ICARUS, which was Charlton Heston's original starship? Thank you for your answers hopefully.......

Yes, that’s exactly what they are, and for me they are the gold standard of what a prequel series should be. For me all three films in the prequel trilogy were damn near flawless.
