Unbearably terrible/annoying

Started watching this last night; my god what an annoying and terrible movie. I usually love Sam Rockwell but man this was just too much. Both the main characters were just way too over the top quirky; you can't just have 2 extremely quirky people on screen being over the top annoying quirky for an hour and half and not offer much more.

Not only that but it was extremely predictable; I called out literally within the first 10 minutes she was going to find out he was an assassin, get mad at him, then she gets kidnapped and he comes to get her and she forgives him and stays with him. Also they gave no time to the one interesting thing; the fact that he like went insane and started to only kill the people that hired him and the potential fall out of that.

It was unbearable; like imagine you take the quirky humor of a film like Grosse Point Blank but on crack and meth at the same time. "Since I've been with you I feel, like, I've been in a coma"; this line was the final straw for me at the 40 minute mark I shut it off.

Not only that but the film is trying to show him as competent hitman but clearly no one is familiar with firearms and it basically slaps realism in the face. Like how he can hear a rifle fire BEFORE the bullet reaches him so he can dodge it. I am quite certain that is NOT how bullets work.

Then the knife throwing scene this "you have the gift" too they are just throwing knives at each other and catching them perfectly. Doesn't that sort of thing require; i don't know, TRAINING. God what an unbearably bad movie. Sure I had a few chuckles here and there but man was the humor muddled up by the over the top quirky behavior.

Bullets in general are faster than sound, which means there's not way you can hear the bullet before it reaches you. It takes 10 seconds to find that in internet.

With regard to quirky characters... it can be done. After all, that was screwball comedy in a nutshell (Bringing up Baby), or surreal comedy (Marx Brothers). But it's not easy. Some modern filmmakers seem to think that crazy comedy is easy: you just show characters doing crazy things. And it's the opposite: it's extremely difficult to portray crazy characters while keeping some internal logic in the movie. The writers that made those classic screwball and surreal comedies were very VERY good.

Yes I know; I am trained in fire arms and was a rifle marksman instructor. I was being sarcastic about how silly the demonstration of bullet physics was in this film

I think you are right; this film might have worked as more of a screwball slapstick style comedy; but it can't just unrealistic over the top quirky characters doing impossible things inside a movie that has not set up a proper internal logic of surrealism. It takes some extremely talented filmmakers to pull of this type of humor effectively. I think this movie failed.

The movie and the characters are intentionally quirky and over the top. I thought it was an enjoyable and amusing film.
