How many of those trashing talking actually went to see it?

Look, I get it - I'm a huge fan of the original too. When I first heard this was getting remade I rolled my eyes like everyone else did.

But then I went to see it - in 3D - and it was one of the most amazing action movies I've ever seen. A visual master piece.

Sure the acting is a bit 2D (as it was in the original) and some of your plot lines will be slightly altered - but the ragging this movie is getting from the general public is just not fair IMO.

This movie stands alone from the original for the first surfing scene alone.

-Point Break (1991) - 8/10 (within my Top 84 movies in general)

-Point Break (2015) - 5/10 (Thumbs Down. it's pretty average/forgettable as it has no re-watch appeal. but it's got a decent bit here and there and Teresa Palmer is always a good thing as she's the most attractive actress under the age of 31)

for the record... when i judge movies i am not judging them based on another movie (i.e. i am not going to over-dis this remake because it's no where near as good as the 1991 movie) as i simply judge them based on how much i like the overall movie as the more i enjoy it the higher the score and the less i enjoy it the lower the score.

It was interesting watching all non American actors in this remake.

just saw it! it was really a superb actioner! i just can't understand all the hate for this movie.

Why couldn't you put the bunny back in the box?

I just saw it and it's piss poor. Another remake failure. It's below at best. Better off watching the original again as at least that movie had heart. The remake was vapid. Just remade to make money because the studios think it is safer than gambling on something new.

WOW ! You need to see better action movies then! If you wanna say that the shots of stunt doubles performing their sport was entertaining I agree, but the movie itself was simply horrible.

I'll keep the "visual (master?)piece" because of the great landscapes! The rest of the movie was disappointing!

Watched it online, didn't spend a cent. But after wasting 2 hours of my life, i feel that Warner Bros owes me $10.

I haven't seen the original, but I saw this one in the theaters because I thought it looked cool, and it is. The filming and editing is top notch, but the story/plot is lacking for me. I don't see the plot, I could see it in the beginning -- a man reformed from extreme sports because of his friends accident, going back in to catch bad guys ... but by the end nothing really happens?
