any suggestions for similar - slow and thoughtful - spy movies?
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy obviously comes to mind... but what else could you suggest?
thanks.

Spy Game with Brad Pitt and Robert Redford. Its got a few years on it but holds up well. Smartly made...

shareI'm surprised more people haven't mentioned Len Deighton... Not quite in Le Carré's class, perhaps, but certainly worth the read, so I should recommend the earlier Harry Palmer trilogy: The Ipcress File (1965), Funeral in Berlin (1966), and finally Billion Dollar Brain (1967), all featuring Michael Caine. I shouldn't bother with Bullet to Beijing (1995) or Midnight in Saint Petersburg (1996), when Caine resumed the role after more than 30 years... They don't really hold a candle to the earlier films...
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...
The mini BBC series 'State of Play' - stay well away from the film version - it's cack.
shareBerlin Station is great, exactly this type of narrative.
