Whats up with the battle royal fanboys?

Why cant both franchises co-exist? I'm not even a hunger games fan, but this fanboy rage is truly unprofessional and childish. Imdb should ban people with the brain the size of a walnut

reply

I suspect that they had a financial interest in Battle Royale 2 and that they are furious that HUNGER GAMES got all the profits instead.

reply

Hunger Games is pretty good, but Battle Royale is the best

reply

That's a bit subjective. I realise that BR has fans, a tiny amount but it has them.

I am the Queen of Snark, TStopped said so. And I have groupies, Atomic Girl said so.

I would guess that for every Hunger Games fans there is are least 10 or 20 Battle Royale 2 fans. Hunger Games may be at the height of its popularity right now, but its virtually unknown outside the USA...

reply

Hunger Games: Catching Fire made $425 million, half of that outside the US according to Box Office Mojo.
Battle Royale isn't even listed.

I guess you also think that comparing solid bars of gold to maggot infested turd-water is also "a bit subjective"?

Catching Fire is just a different variation of the Battle Royale 2 premise.
==========
Battle Royale 2 is about some cowardly military officers who kidnap juvenile delinquents and force them to go on the dangerous missions to save their own skins. What does that have to do with Catching Fire? I think it's just a matter of a failed movie trying to grab the coattails of a far more successful one.

Folks are just upset by the current state of thing in H-town... because they weren't told Catching Fire was a Battle Royale 2 remake, they want a refund. There was no warning labels or anything. We used to have the same problem in my country... you know, like 3 out 4 movies turn out to be ripoffs.

She did, so consider yourself closed.

Can't give a good rating because disc was unplayable..apparently new, popular DVD titles have a copy protect that renders them unplayable on slightly older players..this the third DVD that I've had to return as unplayable for this reason

I enjoyed the Hunger Games books. Don't mind the films...

But BR is better.

This is, without a doubt, the single worst movie ever created. There's no arguing here. This is it. End of story. The story is juvenile and sub-moronic, looking like it was created by a three-year-old.

The entire concept is just plain dumb. It's inconceivable how someone could possibly come up with something so stupid and think it was entertaining. The jokes are also completely lame. If you haven't seen this movie yet, consider yourself lucky. If your morbidly curious as to how bad this movie is, please don't make me describe it. Words can't express how completely awful this movie is. This isn't just bad as in being a bad movie. Even those have cohesion, if not entertainment value. This. . . This is. . . Ugh! Think of the worst story ever told and multiply its badness level by 5,000, and you still haven't come close to how awful this movie is. After giving BRATZ the Movie one point, giving this movie one point seems like nothing short of charity. That's how bad it is. Did the producers and directors even take film classes? Because this is a perfect example of how not to make a film. It looks like some amateur high on paint thinner made this film. If you rented this, please take it back and ask for a refund. And don't even think about renting it ever again.

So, did your hand stop dating you? Is that why you’re so upset?
