MALE RAPE? Joe on the train

The scene where she ends up sucking off the married guy on the train was, from how I perceived it anyway, an example of rape and how male rape committed by women is kind of ignored or considered acceptable...the guy did NOT give consent, at no point in time(the first time with her friend OR with Joe) did he ever say anything but NO, PLEASE STOP, DON'T, etc...even WHILE she was sucking him off! Joe just took advantage of him, it seemed...I'm all for embracing female sexuality but this scene was NOT consensual, if it had been a married woman on the train denying a male pursuer who then took advantage in that way I think more people would have noticed...

sexual abuse? yes. Rape? no...... it is impossible for a woman to rape a man! rape is defined by the forceful penetration of a penis in to a woman .... therefore hypocritically and appaulingly women can not be charged with rape.

Would that make you happy though, personally, if they could?

If sex laws didn't exist, how would we even KNOW when it is right and wrong, including, but not limited to, what constitutes "rape" and how bad it is and how should it be both addressed and punished? Including, as is argued here, female on male ones.

Come to think of it.

Thousands of years BEFORE we had sex rules and sex laws, at least in the sense that we have them NOW even HERE ON IMDb message board discussion, how DID we morally know when it is right and when its wrong?

And would the much talked about scenario here at that time even come across MORALLY as rape or just as bad seduction?

Also - is the fact that today we see it that way mean that modern humanity is much more sexually MATURE?

reply

That is the old definition of rape, changed mostly bc of ppl like those in this thread. The definition of rape is (paraphrasing) the Sexual intrusion of another, sexual intercourse, or relations with another against their will. It wasn't his will to have sex. Whether you all would like to admit it, he said no and she committed rape. I really hope the majority of posters are more or less trolling, and not seriously so ignorant of the law (such an encompassing one, at that) that governs you

Poor bastard. It'll be years of therapy before he's able to get over some random attractive female voluntary sucking him off..........................................

Did the director or screen writer even SAY it was rape?

The greatest trick the Devil has ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist!

I've spoken to some people about this scene and opinions sort of differ.

I have also read in many cases that this scene was meant to be ambiguous and that it actually has a kind of darkly comedic feel to it which means it shouldn't be interpreted too literally.

the scene reads as cruel. you're supposed to feel discomfort, if not disgust when she does that.

Pretty much. That's why she feels bad and considers herself a 'sinner', though.
