Music during the kill tapes literally makes me nauseous

It's not just the images in the videos, or them being paired with the music, but the music itself makes me feel sick in the pit of my stomach— I almost have a visceral reaction to it. No joke. I remember seeing the film in theaters and feeling a wave of nausea come over me while watching the "BBQ" tape, and I think it's because the music is so demented.

The music in all of the tapes is awful, but the one from the BBQ tape is the absolute worst. It is ******* abhorrent and I have no idea why. I have not watched the film in its entirety since I saw it in the theater. I watched bits and piece of it from my friend's Blu-ray but I literally get a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach during the kill tapes. Can't do it. Anyone else physiologically freaked out by it? I'm not superstitious, but it's almost like they inadvertently captured something demonic in those goddamn sounds.

I adored the music in the barbecue scene. I think with many newer horror movies the scores all pretty much sound the same (slow, dreary, and ambient). This score stood out a lot because it was different and unique.

After I watched the movie, I couldn't stop thinking about the score. It was unsettling, to say the least. You know you're doing a good job when the music helps you build the overall atmosphere of the movie, it's been a while since a film has made such a good use of this resource. I have to agree with you, the BBQ tape made me sick and part of it is because of the music.

I've played the soundtrack several times on Halloween... it's very very disturbing stuff... it's all from an EP by the Norwegian band Ulver called "Ulver - Silence Teaches You How To Sing / Silencing The Singing". It did come out on limited double vinyl, and it's amazing.

Ulver is a Norwegian band. They formed in 1994 in Oslo. "Ulver" means Wolves in Norwegian.

Nobody knows anybody. Not that well.

Ah thank you, the release I believe was German

How to put together the full SINISTER soundtrack, because Ulver is just one piece of it.

Yupp, Ulver are pretty amazing act. They started doing Black Metal but later developed into a more electronic, trip hop style. Both eras are great.

The movie is outright creepy. I don't get the "sick to the stomach" feeling, but I get unnerved every time I hear it. That BBQ scene and the Sleepy Time scene.

If you really want to feel unnerved, go check out the lyrics. It's called 'Sacrifice' by Aghast.
