Dick Grayson

Perhaps they should introduce Dick Grayson and have him assume the role of Batman. Get Affleck to do a passing of the torch story for The Batman and continue with a young actor without having to do the recasting thing so early into DC's projects.

But Dick Grayson hasn't been set up in any DCU movies so far, so it would be a little bit jarring if he inexplicably brought into this movie in a sudden and ended as Batman.

How about Jim Gordon or Alfred as Batman? The characters are already there. And the comicbook stories about both of them becoming Batman are also already established.

That is what I am saying introduce Dick Grayson perhaps sometime before The Batman..as either Nightwing or Robin..then have him take over the role from Affleck..you can go younger and give a good in universe reason why the actor is changed.

Gordon and Alfred are too old to be Batman. Someone floated an idea for Michael Keaton to return to the role, while I think that would be cool again you are pushing it age wise for the character.

This may not matter because The Batman may end up existing outside the current DCEU thus a new actor won't make much of a difference.

Ah, I was under impression that you wanted Grayson introduced and ended as Batman in this movie alone. But sure, if there will be preeliminary movie(s) about Grayson first then I think it could work.

Grayson is gonna be in his own movie Nightwing.
