Cinematography Vs. Original

I can't wait to see how they shoot this... The original looks so distinctive and cool. Beautiful film...

I'm excited, Roger Deakins is the director of photography on the sequel... I hope he finally gets an Oscar for his work... This might be the year...

I've avoided the trailers so far... I read it'll be shot digitally... on the Alexa... I'm not going to pre-judge... Deakins is usually very good at matching the cinematography to the story... I'm holding out judgement until I see it on the big screen.

From the trailers I thinks it's on par with the original. I just hope they limit themselves on CGI.

Yeah, I agree with you on limiting CGI...

Arrival's CGI was tasteful for the most part; it had the same director, different cinematographer... Deakins usually isn't very CGI heavy in the movies he shoots, or at least they don't look it...

Definitely one for the theatre
