advocating drugs

So sad that adult MOMS advocate drug usage guised in a movie called "Sisters". In the culture of quick addictions that devastate families, neighborhoods, and whole communities, I would think that Amy and Tina would have more sense than to allow this movie to happen. With the title "Sisters", these two genius comediennes miss the mark at what is possible for humor. My sisters are incredible and funny. They disrespect my sisters and our relationship. These women need to apologize for acting in this movie with such a horrible story line. I am shocked and disappointed with the choices they made.

There was no advocacy or glorification of drugs in the movie. Maybe if you smoked some weed and relaxed you'd be able to analyze and interpret movies better lady

I'd say there is.

Almost everyone does drugs -- especially in the USA.

The people who claim they don't just do it in secret or use prescription drugs.

What's that figure... 52 million Americans have used prescription drugs recreationally. The USA has 5% of the world's population but uses 75% of it's prescription drugs.

So yeah most people are on drugs and you may be boring.

My prescription drugs have never caused any problems and I'd rather be boring than an interesting moron.

Grow up or stick to Disney movies.

Hey idiot, drugs don't do any more harm than alcohol or tobacco to families.. The problems and responsibilities lie with the individual and more and more individuals these days are weak and undisciplined, primarily due to poor parenting and/or the growing trend of individuals not having to take responsibility for their own actions.

I think it really depends on what sort of drugs are being promoted in this movie. Some drugs are better than others so I'll withhold judgement until I see it.

There were zero drugs being promoted or advocated in this movie and the OP may be mentally special. The existence of drugs is different than advocating for them.

Try to think with your little brain. When such drugs are presented in a 'fun' light after characters exclaim they should all return to their 'true selves', it can be seen as glorifying.

All of you who are making such a big deal about this need to get over yourselves. It's a movie. Don't like it? Don't watch it. I don't do drugs or condone recreational drug use, but I know how to put things in perspective. It's a MOVIE people. A comedy, for goodness sakes!

reply

The audience for this movie is not the youth of the country. Teenagers are not clamoring for Tina Fey or Amy Poelher films. The campy drug use in this movie is not going to cause a 30+ person to start using or to continue using drugs. It's a silly comedy. It's an extended snl skit. It's not a reflection of your relationship with your incredible and funny sisters. Don't take it personally.

I am not young enough to know everything.

Thank you. Seriously. I've never read a thread condemning a movie for somehow offending not only themselves, but the relationship with their own sisters...my god, how far is that stick up the OP's anus? I watched an atrocity called "Dirty Grandpa" and it was ten times more crude and had drugs/alcohol and I didn't see anyone post a thread saying how it offended the relationship between them and their lovable "grandfather." And expecting an apology to boot. I was offended by it...by how horrible it was and how sad De Niro has fallen. Didn't start a thread.

Advocating drugs in a movie for adults... Scandalous! Or maybe, not so much...
